Frederick BellManaging Director
Frederick co-founded Elemental Royalties in 2016 following his role as Managing Director of a listed gold exploration company, Goldcrest Resources plc, where he assembled a portfolio of gold licences in northeast Ghana to take to AIM. He has wide experience in the mining industry, including as General Manager of an ASX-listed uranium company from the age of 25. Frederick received the ‘Young Rising Star’ Award at Mines & Money 2018, read history at the University of Edinburgh and is on the Committee of Young Mining Professionals in London.
Richard EvansExecutive Director
Richard has over 25 years of technical and commercial resource industry experience on five continents with a metals focus. He spent 18 years with WMC covering exploration, feasibility, underground mining, business development and audit. Richard was formerly CEO of an ASX-listed uranium explorer and relisted it in 2010 raising $2M and defining a maiden Resource. He was a founding shareholder and consultant to Mantra Resources, acquired by ARMZ for A$1bn.
Peter WilliamsExecutive Director
Peter was the first Manager of WMC Geoscience technology before he became a founding member of Independence Group Limited, $0.20 in 2002 to $6 in 2006 and now $3bn+. He was a founding director of Ampella Mining Ltd, a vendor of Gryphon Minerals’ Banfora Gold Project and involved in the project generation for Papillion’s Mali projects. Peter co-founded the International Resource Sector Intelligence company, Intierra, and also co-founded the first hard rock mineral seismic company in the world, HiSeis.
Greg OwenVP Operations
Greg has over 10 years’ experience of both public and private companies within the mining sector, most recently as VP Corporate Development with Altus Strategies Plc from 2011 until Q1 2018. He was part of the management team responsible for the AIM IPO in August 2017 and the acquisition of TSX-V listed Legend Gold Corp in January 2018. Prior to that Greg was Business Development Manager for Metals Exploration Plc, an AIM-listed company developing the Runruno gold-molybdenum project in the Philippines. Greg read Environmental Science at the University of Plymouth, is a member of the Association of Mining Analysts, and acted as Honorary Secretary of the Oxford Mining Club from 2012 – 2018.
David BakerVP Business Development
David has over nine years’ experience in the mining and mine finance industries. He started his career in Equity Research at BMO Capital Markets before joining Kulczyk Investments, a Polish family investment company. Whilst at KI, David was part of the establishment of QKR Corporation, a private mining investment company, and was seconded to the business development team which acquired the Navachab gold mine from Anglogold Ashanti. Prior to joining Elemental, David was Vice President at Tamesis Partners LLP, specialising in corporate advisory, research, and equity capital markets.
Matt is a chartered professional accountant who has served as CFO of public companies in the mining industry for over 10 years. He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and earned his CPA while articling at a large accounting firm. He is currently the managing director of Malaspina Consultants Inc., a company providing consulting, accounting and administrative services to junior resource companies.
Matthew is a qualified charted accountant who was CFO of Anglo Pacific PLC, a royalty company based in London, for eight years during a fourfold growth in market capitalisation. Matthew was involved in all aspects of the full range of corporate activities including finance, opportunity assessment, tax optimisation and compliance, negotiation, accounting and governance; and has been the non-executive director of a listed mining company during a period of transformation and refinancing; and, has extensive experience in management accounting and reporting.
Geoff is a qualified engineer and is currently Managing Director of GR Engineering Services Ltd, formerly General Manager – Development for Resolute Ltd, Managing Director, Non-Executive Director and Chair of a number of ASX-listed minerals exploration, development and mining companies. He brings a wealth of more than 30 years Australian and international mining project design, construction, operation & corporate management experience.
Nicholas has a Masters of Philosophy degree from St Antony’s College Oxford in Latin American Studies and is now Partner of Investor Relations at The Sentient Group, a major independent private equity firm specialising in direct investments in the global metals, minerals and energy sectors with just under $3B under management and was formerly CEO and Director of Sentient Asset Management Canada. As an early member of the Sentient team Nicholas has wide experience in the resource investment sector covering investor relations, political risk and financial analysis. He worked for WMC Ltd, was a private equity resource analyst with AMP Private Investments and public markets resource analyst for Cazenove.
